Double surcharge for the bOOD project

of the Hamburg-Holstein Transport Authority

[Translate to English:]

Back in spring 2020, highQ Computerlösungen won the tender as general contractor for the VHH bOOD project to implement the digital organization platform. Now lots 4 and 5 will be added. The kick-off already took place in the first quarter of 2021, with the aim of continuing the previous positive experiences from the first sub-project synergistically with the new lots.

With over 670 buses and more than 2,100 employees, Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) is the second-largest local transport company in northern Germany, headquartered in Hamburg. The transport company was founded in 1905. Today, VHH transports about 106 million passengers per year. VHH is a partner in the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV) and offers passenger transportation by bus in the Hamburg metropolitan region.

"Wherever you want to go" - with this motto, VHH wants to offer its customers attractive on-demand transport. The foundation of an operational organization platform was already started in May 2020 with the central backend for Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein as a mobility service provider with highQ computer solutions, now the consistent continuation is pending, the realization of a passenger and driver app:

In Lot 4, a mobile application for passengers is being developed. In the future, the app will provide optimal travel information, accept and manage bookings, as well as purchase and store tickets and, of course, bill for all services.

The commissioned transport companies (driver providers) are the focus of Lot 5. Via the app, the accepted orders from passengers are distributed to the transport companies as driving orders and billed.

The "bOOD mobility platform" represents an innovative form of linking "classic" public transport with on-demand transport services (such as call-sharing cabs) and novel ridesharing concepts such as ioki Hamburg.

"We are very pleased about these two important connection projects," said Thomas Wanke. "This will allow us to continue our good and constructive cooperation with VHH and provide a unique and innovative overall solution of this kind for their customers."

"Digitization offers a unique opportunity to make public transport even more flexible and innovative and, as a result, to convince more people to use our services. Our goal is to integrate traditional call collection and call line services, as well as on-demand ridesharing services, into future digital business processes. We are pleased to be able to drive the bOOD project forward together with highQ Computerlösungen," adds VHH Managing Director Toralf Müller.
