highQ Computerlösungen GmbH has created the technical basis for a public transport concept for Stadtwerke Osnabrück AG that is unique in Germany. The highlight of the smartphone app YANiQ is a check-in/be-out ticketing (CiBo) with downstream best price accounting. The unique billing system, which has been recognized for its innovative character and saves passengers money, will start on Monday, October 26, 2020, on buses operated by Osnabrück's public utility company.

The task of highQ Computerlösungen as general contractor was to combine the transport services in Osnabrück on a digital platform and to ensure optimal user-friendliness. As a result, the App YANiQ has now been launched, which enables passengers in Osnabrück to travel by bus at the best possible price. With the tool from highQ, which is absolutely compliant with the current data protection regulations according to DSGVO, the city is setting an example on the way to becoming an intelligent municipality.

Instead of having to buy a ticket, registered users now check in to YANiQ with their smartphone before starting their journey. They buy a driving authorization, which is later converted into a ticket. The highlight: The check-in/out system (CiBo), which is unique in Germany, uses a combination of Beacon, GPS and Motion technologies to automatically recognize which route a user is taking. The system recognizes every change of train or exit and automatically calculates the best fare. The price-optimized billing of the trips is bundled at the end of each week.

Once registered, passengers no longer have to struggle through the different tariffs and always use public transport at the best price for them. If several journeys take place on the same day or in the same week, the individual tickets are bundled into day or week tickets. All they need is an Internet-capable smartphone with Bluetooth function and the YANiQ app, which is optimized for the iOS and Android operating systems.

The best price system implemented by highQ is unique to date. Stadtwerke Osnabrück was recently awarded first place in the Stadtwerke Award 2020 for its exemplary step towards digital transformation and innovative implementation, and highQ has been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2021 for its MobilitySuite.
