OnDemand traffic

OnDemand traffic

For individual, public mobility

Isolated mobility providers instead of liquid transportation

The challenge: Traffic on demand

People want to get from A to B spontaneously, safely and quickly - in the next five minutes and not tomorrow. The classic public transport system is often unable to achieve this: regular services are associated with too many dependencies and waiting times, take detours or arrive too late. The solution for many: Transport on order, i.e. on demand. Such on-demand services are already a supplement to regular services, especially in rural areas, but they often do not fully meet the needs of passengers because the route is thought of in terms of individual routes rather than as a whole.

  • OnDemand offerings are not interconnected
  • Scheduled transport is expensive, planning-intensive and not always efficient
  • Travel planning is time-consuming and confusing for guests
  • Customers place more and more value on customized traffic

What is OnDemand Traffic?

Today, traffic is dominated by private motorized transport and scheduled public transport. In the future, mobility services will be supplemented by flexible on-demand transport, so-called "individual public transport. These on-demand services are nothing new in themselves: Passengers book them in advance and the bus then arrives at the stop of their choice. A similar model also exists with call-sharing cabs (AST) such as Ruftaxen. Sometimes, these drive to the specified stops; in other models, they even take the passenger to his or her own front door.

The requirement for OnDemand traffic

It is not only people's need for mobility that will increase - there is also the demand to travel ecologically. As a contribution to environmental protection, on-demand transports can fulfill this requirement more easily than private cars, for example, if electric vehicles are used or trips are bundled.

What is important here is an attractive offer that satisfies ad hoc mobility behavior:
Transport companies and mobility providers must think in terms of entire transport chains rather than individual journeys, which presupposes that connections work. This is why cross-modal planning, including on-demand transport, is becoming central and the focus is shifting to the travel process. Public transport planning systems should be able to map demand response planning. Thanks to simulation functions, traffic can be optimally planned.

Seamlessly link all transport services

With our mobility platform "MobilitySuite" it is possible to map public transport, on-demand transport and other offers such as car and bike sharing in a single system. Even small companies, such as cab providers, can be easily connected to the digital transport platform.

In this way, the added value for passengers grows with a larger mobility offering and smaller providers also find themselves in the timetable information.

Quite simply to the goal

Plan and book a trip

Boarding and seamless overview of the entire route

Arrive environmentally conscious and stress-free

The advantages of OnDemand traffic

Shaping urban and rural mobility

An OnDemand offer must work in all areas, in the city and in the countryside. For the latter in particular, one solution may be to bundle trips and aim for shared trips. These shared rides save resources and are more effective and environmentally friendly. Currently, this is hardly the case overall - only rarely does a driver transport several passengers at the same time.

OnDemand helps with...

  • the equalization of traffic flows
  • the switch from car to public transport
  • flexible embedding of all mobility providers
  • the promotion of environmentally friendly forms of mobility
  • the design of urban and rural transport

We support you in the implementation of your mobility platform.
